USTR Grants Extension for Comments on Chinese Imported Items

Posted on August 14, 2018

The US Trade Representative announced on August 1 that the President directed the USTR to consider raising the level of the additional duty on a list of 6,031 products imported from China from 10 percent to 25 percent.

In light of this possible increase in the rate of additional duty, the USTR is extending certain comment periods set out in the July 17th notice to September 6th.

The scheduled start date of the Section 301 public hearing will still take place August 30th at 9:30am in the main hearing room of the US International Trade Commission (ITC) at 500 E Street SW, Washington, DC.

To submit written requests, USTR asks companies to make email submissions through the Federal eRulemaking portal: http://www.regulations.gov. In the search box, enter USTR-2018-0026 – the docket number for comment submissions and follow instructions.
