RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking public input on the Lake Dardanelle Shoreline Management Plan. Public comment for the draft SMP will be held between February 4, 2025, and March 5, 2025. USACE will hold a public scoping workshop from 5 p.m. to 7 p. m., Feb. 18, 2025, at the Little Rock District’s Russellville Site Office located at 1598 Lock and Dam Road, Russellville, Arkansas.
The SMP for Lake Dardanelle establishes policy and furnishes guidelines for the protection and preservation of the environmental characteristics of the shoreline while maintaining a balance between public and private shoreline uses. “Scoping” is the process of determining the scope, focus and content of the shoreline management plan update documents.
Anyone interested in the future of shoreline activity use around Lake Dardanelle is invited to drop in anytime during the workshop. USACE personnel will be on hand to answer questions and provide an informational overview of the shoreline management plan update process. Comments will be accepted during the in-person workshop. Comments can also be mailed to the Lake Dardanelle SMP Planner, Natural Resources Management Section, USACE, Little Rock District, P.O. Box 867, Little Rock, AR 72203 or e-mailed to LakeDardanelleSMPUpdate@usace.army.mil before March 5, 2025.
