USACE New Public Notice – Ocean County, NJ

The applicant, New Jersey Department of Transportation – Office of Maritime Resources, has requested Department of the Army authorization to perform ten (10)-year maintenance dredging of three (3) channels within Barnegat Bay, identified as the Berkeley Shores State Channel Complex: Berkeley Shores North Channel, Berkeley Shores Channel, and Berkeley Shores Spur Channel. All of the work would be accomplished via hydraulic cutterhead dredge or mechanical bucket dredge. The stated purpose of this project is to restore and maintain safe navigational depths for transiting recreational and emergency vessels in Barnegat Bay.
