WALLA WALLA, Wash. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, has awarded a $349,000 construction contract to Paragon Native LLC for improvements to the maintenance yard at Mill Creek Dam and Bennington Lake near Walla Walla, Washington.
The project will expand the footprint of the existing maintenance yard, providing more fenced space to increase efficiency and ease of use. It also will improve security for the yard and adjacent public parking area through the installation of additional cameras and lighting. Construction is expected to begin this month and continue into October.
“The improvements at Mill Creek will help our team carry out maintenance and operations more effectively while enhancing safety and security for both staff and the public,” said Sean Molina, a project manager for the Walla Walla District.
Mill Creek Dam and Bennington Lake is a congressionally authorized flood control project operated and maintained by the Walla Walla District to reduce flood risk to the city of Walla Walla and surrounding communities.
