Upcoming Mobile District Change of Command Ceremony

MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District will hold a Change of Command ceremony on July 18, at the Mobile District Headquarters, Alabama. The event will officially mark the transition of command from Col. Jeremy J. Chapman, outgoing commander, to Col. Kelcey R. Shaw, incoming commander.

Col. Chapman has served as the Mobile District commander, leading a range of vital civil and military construction and engineering projects across the southeastern United States and Latin America. Under his leadership, the district has advanced critical infrastructure, environmental restoration, and community resilience efforts.

Col. Shaw will assume command, bringing extensive expertise in engineering and civil works. Hs is committed to continuing the Mobile District’s mission to support military readiness and deliver vital services to the region.

The Change of Command ceremony will include a formal passing of the guidon, remarks from district leadership, and recognition of Chapman’s dedicated service. The ceremony symbolizes the tradition and continuity of leadership within the Mobile District.
