Ulstein Verft in Norway launched yard number 320, a commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) for Bernhard Schulte Offshore on 24 February 2025
The launch of the new vessel for Bernhard Schulte Offshore followed an extensive outfitting phase that included installing electrical and mechanical systems, piping, accommodation, and system integration. The vessel’s Ampelmann tower and gangway have also been installed.
The hull of the CSOV was built at Crist shipyard in Gdynia, Poland, a long-standing partner of Ulstein, before being towed to Norway.
The vessel, which have the Ulstein TWIN X-Stern hullform, also has a 3D-compensated crane. The hullform, with two sterns and main propellers located fore and aft, enhances their utility during DP operations.
With the TWIN X-Stern solution, the ship will also have improved fuel efficiency and reduced motions compared with a conventional design. The new vessel has diesel-electric propulsion and battery energy storage capacity. It is also prepared for methanol as fuel.
The vessel will provide accommodation for up to 132 crew and clients.
The CSOV is due to be delivered in Q2 2025.
