Belarus intends to implement a project on the development of port infrastructure in Nizhnie Zhary village, which borders Ukraine. Ukraine sees this as a perspective for the navigation development along the Dnieper and the potential for cargo transit. This requires dredging from Kiev to the border with Belarus, reports UkrAgroConsult.
In the long term, such a port may become a major transit hub, which will connect Europe and Asia. Dredging operations on the Dnieper River are necessary for large-capacity vessels passage between Nizhnie Zhary and Kiev.
The next step is to identify sources of financing for dredging, including funds from Belarusian side.
