Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs has withdrawn the development rights for two of the five winning projects from the country’s Round 3.2 offshore wind tender, as reported by local media.
The ministry has cancelled the rights for Corio and TotalEnergies’ 360-MW Formosa 3 project and the 240-MW Deshuai development by Enervest, the reports say, adding that these projects did not meet the established requirements.
As a result, Taiwan has now cancelled projects with a combined capacity of 900 MW, including the 300-MW Haixia 1, which took part in the Round 3.1 tender.
As previously reported, Round 3.2 awarded a total of 2.7 GW in August 2024.
