March 30 – (Long Island NY) – Supreme Manufacturing, Inc. of Pennsylvania USA has been awarded a contract to build a new clamshell dredge for an eastern Long Island sand and gravel producer. The dredge model is an MD-13 gantry style dredge with a 13 cubic-yard bucket. The producer looked to Supreme Manufacturing to provide a long-term solution to allow them to meet the demand of the ever-expanding Long Island NU construction industry.
Supreme is targeting early 2022 for commissioning.
Supreme’s President Neil Hoobler commented to DredgeWire that “Long Island has been one of Supreme’s strongest regions for over a decade now. We credit the proven success of our other dredges there for continuing to make the case to producers to invest in long-term savings. We are blessed to be building another dredge on the island. As is often the case, this type of capital purchase is the result of extensive long-term planning and decision making on the customer’s part – we’re just honored to be a partner in it”.
Supreme will identify the client when the dredge is delivered.
