Suntex acquires Two Georges Marina in Florida

Two Georges Marina is being rebranded as Shalimar Harbor Marina

Posted on January 26, 2026

US marina operator Suntex Marina Investors, in partnership with Centerbridge Partners and its affiliates, has acquired Two Georges Marina in Shalimar, Florida.

The marina will operate as Shalimar Harbor Marina going forward. Suntex says the new name references the former Shalimar Yacht Basin and the Town of Shalimar, where the facility has operated for many years. The transaction adds a second Emerald Coast location to the Suntex portfolio, alongside Legendary Marina in Destin, Florida.

The marina comprises 134 wet slips and 190 dry rack storage spaces. It is located approximately one mile from the Intracoastal Waterway and close to Destin Pass. On-site facilities include a fuel dock, a ship store and marine service provision. Suntex says the location supports access to offshore and inshore boating activities common to the Florida Panhandle.

“Shalimar Harbor Marina is a perfect fit for the Suntex family,” says Sam Chavers, senior vice president of operations at Suntex Marinas. “With both covered and uncovered wet slips, along with protected dry storage, the marina offers versatile options for our customers. Its prime location and amenities align with our mission to deliver the best boating experiences in the most sought-after destinations.”

Operations associated with Two Georges Marina will continue through an independent sales and service business run by George and Amanda Fussell under the Two Georges Marine name. Two Georges Marine will maintain responsibility for boatyard haul-out services, maintenance and repairs, repowers and retail boat sales. The business represents brands including Caymas, Contender, C-Hawk, Mitzi Skiffs and Ranger Boats.

“We are proud to grow alongside Suntex through a collaborative, long-term partnership,” says George Fussell Jr. “We are excited to continue serving our local community through Two Georges Marine and to provide the same five-star, family-run hospitality our customers have come to know and love.”

“Expanding Suntex’s renowned hospitality and service standards along the Emerald Coast is an exciting next chapter,” adds Tommy Hearden, investment manager at Suntex Marinas. “We look forward to welcoming boaters and setting a new benchmark for experiences on and off the water.”

Based in Dallas, Texas, Suntex manages and operates marinas across the US. In November 2025, the firm expanded its portfolio in California with the acquisition of Vintage Marina and Channel Islands Harbour Marina in Oxnard, adding to a portfolio that spans Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee and Virginia.
