Subsea 7 has finalised the acquisition of multi-purpose offshore construction and dive support vessel ‘Toisa Pegasus’ to support its operations in the North Sea and Asia Pacific.

Designed and built in the Netherlands by Royal IHC in 2009, the 133m long vessel, to be renamed Seven Pegasus, can perform both heavy and light construction work scopes.

John Evans, chief operating officer said: “This acquisition reinforces our leading diving capabilities and reflects our strategy to actively manage our fleet composition to meet our client’s requirements and market conditions.”

The highly capable DP3 vessel features a twin-bell 18-person saturation diving system rated to 300m and installed below deck. The dive system includes two 6-person twin lock saturation and two 3-person saturation chambers. Two 18-person hyperbaric lifeboats are installed – one on port and one on starboard side.

Powered by four diesel electric installation B&W MAN 9L27/38 diesel engines, Seven Pegasus benefits from a heave compensated 400t harbour crane which enables it to support a range of construction projects.

Additionally, its large and flexible 1,200m2 back deck provides further scope for a variety of applications.

Stable operations can be carried out due to an interactive roll reduction system and two moonpools positioned about mid-ships to minimise motions.

Seven Pegasus will undergo a docking and crew familiarisation programme before commencing operations in quarter two 2019.
