The Mississippi River Reintroduction to Bayou Lafourche project took another step forward last week when the State Bond Commission approved up to $30 million in revenue bonds for the Bayou Lafourche Fresh Water District to continue work.
Ben Malbrough, the district’s executive director, said the approval essentially establishes a line of credit for the project, but the commission has not yet decided a specific plan for when to sell and where to spend the money.
“Now we just have to determine when we want to issue the bonds,” he said.
