Sri Vijaya Puram : Smt. Purva Garg, Secretary (Shipping), Andaman & Nicobar Administration, undertook a detailed review of the ongoing construction of the Sea Port Terminal at Swaraj Dweep on 22.11.2025 and 23.11.2025. The inspection focused on assessing physical progress, identifying bottlenecks and ensuring quality adherence for this important maritime infrastructure project.
During the site visit, key components of the project, including the passenger terminal building, berthing area, utility blocks, public amenities, Water requirement, power requirement, Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems—key components in design, installation, and maintenance of the building etc. were inspected.
The officials from ALHW and site Engineer of the Contractor briefed about the current status, work schedules and pending activities. The status of work for repair of Swaraj Dweep Jetty and its approach was also deliberated with the ALHW officials and directives were issued to pursue with the MoPSW for expeditious clearance of the Detailed Project report (DPR) for this particular work so that there is no inconvenience caused to the visiting passengers.
