Senate unanimously passes capital budget

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A $125 million plan to maintain and enhance New Hampshire’s infrastructure has passed the state Senate.

The Senate voted unanimously Thursday to approve a two-year capital budget that includes projects all over the state, from dredging at Rye Harbor to rebuilding the access road at the prison in Berlin.

Sen. David Watters, a Democrat from Dover, is chairman of the Senate Capital Budget Committee. He says the funding will stimulate workforce development, private business growth and economic opportunity.

The Senate amended the capital budget approved by the House, which means the bill will return to the House for further action.
