His dedication to advancing coastal restoration, safe navigation, and economic growth has shaped the future of the Mississippi River and its vital role in the U.S. economy.

In addition to his many honors, Sean serves as Chairman of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Federal Advisory Committee Hydrographic Services Review Panel, where he continues to champion innovation and excellence in maritime navigation and hydrographic services. As Executive Director of the Big River Coalition and Executive Vice President of the Louisiana Maritime Association, Sean has been a tireless advocate for the Mississippi River and ensuring the free flow of maritime commerce. His leadership has helped secure funding, protect jobs, and foster collaboration across the industry.

Most importantly, he was instrumental in gaining Congressional approval to deepen the Mississippi River Ship Channel to 50 feet and to increase the beneficial use of dredge material or “sediment recycling.” This Lifetime Achievement Award is a testament to Sean’s vision, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the maritime community.
