‘Save DCI from Privatisation’

Posted on April 11, 2017

CPI (M) State secretary P. Madhu has requested Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to stall the attempts to privatise Visakhapatnam-based Dredging Corporation of India (DCI).

In a letter to the Chief Minister, Mr. Madhu stated that the Mini Ratna category DCI was playing a crucial role in the development of major and minor ports. “It is unfortunate that Prime Minister Narendra Modi thought of disinvesting the Central government’s 51% stake in the PSU in spite of it being a high-performing enterprise”, Mr. Madhu observed.

He appealed to the CM to use his good offices to save it from the ill-conceived move of ‘strategic sale’.
