The Savannah District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has a new commander.
Daniel H. Hibner is coming from MacDill Air Force Base in Florida where he served as a branch chief. Hibner has 25 years of experience with the Army. He spent some of his time working for the Army Corps of Engineers in New Orleans during hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
He says he’s looking forward to working in Savannah.
“To be able to come to such a great region, to come to such a great district with so many civilians that are doing wonderful things for our nation’s priorities, it’s truly the greatest honor for me.”
Marvin L. Griffin, who previously served as a commander, will be leaving Savannah to serve as the Chief Engineer for Resolute Support Operations in Afghanistan.
