You can see and hear the staff explain next steps in potential sand nourishment for Wamberal and The Entrance North in the first 30 minutes of the meeting. Watch that on YouTube: the March 3 planning and environment committee.
Basically, council has been shown a confidential report from the Stockton Beach sand nourishment pilot and is now working with the State Government to approach the federal government for a grant of $3M to progress offshore sand nourishment approval and mining licences.
A councillor asked what comes first: a revetment wall or sand nourishment. An adopted CMP comes first, which was my understanding of the conversation.
After that, there are three pathways: one for sand nourishment as mentioned above and two possible paths for revetment wall approval.
You can read all about it in the CMP update on the council website: Your Voice Our Coast.

If you don’t know about that website, you need to. It has all the latest council projects where you can have your say, and there are many open at present.
