The terminal’s design is sustainable and will act as an integration hub for Samskip and Matrans operations in containerized and break-bulk transport.
Samskip and Matrans Rotterdam Terminal have teamed up to launch a new terminal and future hub in Rotterdam. The terminal’s design is sustainable and will act as an integration hub for Samskip and Matrans operations in containerized and break-bulk transport. Matrans will be better serving its existing customers in break-bulk, containers, and RoRo, handling non-ferrous metals, forest products, general cargo, and project cargo.
Some of the terminal’s highlights include electrification of vehicles, shore power, and solar power to reduce environmental impact. The terminal will contribute to faster and more reliable transit times for containerized and break-bulk transport, aiming for the lowest possible CO2 footprint in line with Samskip’s and Matrans’ commitment to sustainability.
