A company that previously dredged Village lakes will return to Hot Springs Village for this year’s lake dredging projects.
Estate Management Services of Missouri LLC has a proven track record in the Village, lakes ecology and fisheries manager Brad Meredith told the board in a memo.
The board authorized chief executive officer Lesley Nalley to enter a $126,645.75 contract with Estate Management Services for hydraulic dredging of Lakes Granada and Estrella.
Both lakes have been lowered to allow lakes staff to remove materials in some coves. “However, not all coves that require dredging can be reached by staff,” Meredith wrote. “Hydraulic dredging is required in these areas.”
The contract exceeds the $125,000 allocated for hydraulic dredging, but can be met within the overall $265,000 lakes maintenance budget.
Meredith had based the budget on the past cubic foot rates, but this year’s vendor bid included an extra $1 per cubic foot charge for material and transportation costs.
Bids were solicited from 3 vendors, but only Estate Management responded.
Substantial completion of hydraulic dredging is expected by May 22.
