Royal IHC delivers large custom salt harvester to Arab Potash Corp for Dead Sea

Posted on January 14, 2026

We are proud to share a major milestone: the Salt Harvester for Arab Potash Company (APC) has been officially handed over and is now fully operational.

At the end of December, Royal IHC and APC successfully completed the final performance tests at the Safi site in Jordan. The harvester met all agreed parameters — from the required production capacity (t/h of carnallite) to manoeuvrability, innovative crawler track performance, and overall uptime. A great achievement for everyone involved.

This new Salt Harvester is an upgrade to APC’s existing fleet at their carnallite production facility in the Dead Sea. Designed to operate 24/7, it:

  • Collects brine from the evaporation ponds using a 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝
  • Uses 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬 for optimal mobility
  • Is 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜, supporting more sustainable operations
  • Has 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 to transport brine directly to the onshore refineries

Over the past year, the harvester was constructed at APC’s Safi site in close collaboration with our local partner MAG. By combining APC’s operational expertise with Royal IHC’s engineering know-how, several performance and capacity improvements were integrated into the design.

This Salt Harvester marks the fifth Royal IHC asset delivered to APC’s fleet — a strong testament to the long-standing and successful partnership between our companies. We wish Arab Potash Company every success with this new harvester and look forward to continuing our collaboration on future innovations.
