Safe Working Recognised At Red7marine

Posted on August 18, 2020

UK marine civil engineering contractor Red7Marine has worked hard through the pandemic lockdown period to look after its staff, with two recent safety awards to show for it.

Earlier this year the company’s Head of QHSE and Business Improvement, Mark Smith, had been selected as Winner in the Individual Champion (SME) Category of the Mates in Mind 2020 Impact Awards. At this point, Red7Marine had only been signed up to the scheme for six months but its impressive commitment to mental health and wellbeing was highlighted to the judging panel.

During a difficult lockdown period for many, Red7Marine continued to support its employees and their mental health with regular check-ins and virtual team meetings.

Throughout the lockdown period, Red7Marine also achieved its migration from OHAS 18001: 2007 to ISO 45001:2018 accreditation for occupational health and safety management systems. This updated audit on the business highlights Red7Marine’s commitment to providing a safe and healthy workplace by preventing work-related injury and ill health, as well as by proactively improving its OH&S performance.
