The Sabine-Neches Navigation District (SNND) has been cooperatively planning to execute the channel deepening work for the Sabine Neches Waterway Channel Improvement Project (SNWW CIP). The information below is an overview of the two initial areas of the main channel to be deepened:
Contract 2B
Contract 2B is approximately 20.5 miles long of the main channel starting offshore and will end just past the Cheniere LNG facility. This contract will be approximately 11.6 Million Cubic Yards and is expected to last 10 months. The Contract is scheduled to be advertised for bid by November of 2023.
Contract 3
Contract 3 is approximately 8.25 miles long beginning just past Cheniere LNG and will end just past Taylor Bayou/Texaco Island. This contract will be approximately 7 Million Cubic Yards and is expected to last 7-8 months. The Contract will be advertised for bid by January of 2024.
Anchorage Basins 4 and 8
In addition to contracts for the deepening of the main channel, SNND anticipates issuing and executing contracts for dredging two Anchorage Basin projects in the Neches River that are part of the overall Channel Improvement Project. Anchorage Basin 8 is scheduled to be advertised by March of 2024 while Anchorage Basin 4 is scheduled to be advertised for bid by June of 2024.
