Electro Pulse Power (EPP) technology uses high-voltage discharges to break rock without mechanical contact, reducing wear and improving efficiency. This technology can be applied when dredging hard rock, in underwater mining, or for drilling deep geothermal wells.

With our knowledge on Electro Pulse Power, IHC Miningโ€™s Pulsed Power team has been an essential partner in the DEEPLIGHT Project โ€“ a funded international project with the main goal to develop a contactless drilling technology based on EPP to accelerate the growth of global geothermal production.ย Geothermal energy is a more environmentally friendly renewable energy source without the need for fuels.

Yesterday our colleagues Mohammed Azimi and Tom Willenbroek from IHCโ€™s Pulsed Power team presented in Istanbul the progress on the Electro Pulse Power system we have been designing. Good discussions and technical questions followed from the consortium members and other parties that were present.
