IHC Mining is proud to help Rock Flour Company in exploring how glacial rock flour (GRF) from Greenland can become a powerful, nature-based climate solution.

Based in Copenhagen, The Rock Flour Company is pioneering the use of Greenlandic GRF as a carbon removal solution. Backed by science and strong field trials, they are turning glacial sediment into a globally relevant resource — aiming to improve food production, restore soils, and sequester atmospheric CO₂. Now, they’re moving toward industrial-scale operations with sustainability at the core.

Glacial rock flour is a fine, mineral-rich powder formed as glaciers grind down bedrock. When applied to soil, it improves fertility and accelerates carbon capture through enhanced weathering — offering benefits for both food security and the climate.

The challenge? It’s mostly underwater, in highly turbid environments where glaciers have done the heavy lifting over millennia.

IHC Mining is leading a Scoping Study to define how GRF can be excavated, dewatered, processed, and handled at scale — applying decades of experience in dredging and offshore mining to this climate-positive mission. Our goal is to help unlock this resource in a way that’s low impact, climate-aligned, and technically sound — even in Greenland’s extreme conditions.

Let’s dig in.
