PORTLAND, Ore. — Ross Island Sand and Gravel in Southeast Portland is closing its concrete division and laying off more than three dozen workers.
Ross Island Sand and Gravel is owned by the Pamplin Corporation.
The company says it’s shifting focus from concrete to dredging.
