Dredging of the Pirie River may start in May, according to a letter shared with lobby group, the Wharf Rats.
The group, consisting of about a dozen men with links to fishing and boating, had demanded more information from Port Pirie Regional Council about the $2 million dredging and boat ramp project.
Deputy Mayor Cr Leon Stephens supplied the group with a letter sent to him from council chief executive officer Andrew Johnson.
