The Honourable Catherine McKenna, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, announced today the establishment of a three-member Review Panel to conduct the environmental assessment of Vancouver Fraser Port Authority’s proposed Roberts Bank Terminal 2 project in British Columbia.
Ms. Jocelyne Beaudet has been appointed as the Chair of the Review Panel. Dr. Diana Valiela and Dr. David Levy have been appointed as members of the Review Panel.
The Terms of Reference establish the mandate and composition of the Review Panel, as well as the procedure and timelines of the environmental assessment.
Under the Terms of Reference, the Review Panel will conduct an assessment of the environmental effects of the project, consider mitigation measures, determine whether the project is likely to cause significant adverse effects, and identify any follow-up programs required. The Review Panel will also consider comments from the public and Indigenous groups that are received during the assessment.
