Restoring Wetlands at Philadelphia’s John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge

Ducks Unlimited, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and other partners continue to advance wetland restoration at the 150-acre Henderson tidal marsh at the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge in southeastern Pennsylvania.

The latest phase of this multiyear effort is geared toward restoring Pennsylvania’s largest remaining freshwater tidal marsh. The proposed work builds from an existing foundation of prior habitat conservation projects using nature-based solutions to address community flooding impacts.
