MOST IMPORTANT ISSUES DURING THE EVENT
The recent “LATAM Congress 2021” had a huge participation with more than 600 participants from 37 countries in face-to-face meetings.
It was a good opportunity for new businesses to update themselves on the latest trends within the port industry.
It is important to say that it was my first participation on the event and, honestly, I was surprised with the quality of contentin all the booths, including the commercial ones.
The Conference Room, was very busy with the participants. This meant many opportunities to network with the assistants, which gave the opportunity for the closing of deals and gave the possibility to open new possibilitiesfor Colombia’s commerce industry and development in the future.
During the coffee breaks there was plenty of time to meet new customers and visitors who visited the stands. For instance, I was in charge of the E-Crane booth which had a lot of movement regarding former and newly discovered costumers; this led to the exchanging of ideas and review forpotential businesses with new and existing ports in Colombia.
Moreover, I was astonished by the amount of Dutch visitors and Government Authorities promoting their maritime and Port industries in the region.
Likewise,we had the chance to talk with other Government Authoritieslike the Department of CommerceInternational Trade Administration from US. Withthis conversation, we are building solid relationships with the purpose to open new opportunities of business with the support of North American Companies, we are currently representing in Colombia.
