NEW ORLEANS — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), New Orleans District, has rescheduled two of the four public meetings initially slated for presenting information and gathering public comments for the Morganza to the Gulf, Louisiana Hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction Project (MTG) Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) released December 5, 2025.
The meetings originally scheduled for Jan. 6, 2026, at the Barry P. Bonvillain Civic Center in Houma, La., have been rescheduled for Jan. 15, 2026, at the same location.
The new meeting dates and times are:

A draft SEIS titled “Morganza to the Gulf, Louisiana Hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction Project” and appendices, prepared by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, is available for public review and comment for 45 days from December 5, 2025, to January 23, 2026. Comments can be provided at the public meetings described below and mailed or emailed at the addresses provided at the end of this press release.
These meetings are being held to give the public, interested parties and stakeholders the opportunity to provide input on the new draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement for the MTG Project. In addition, USACE personnel will give a presentation about the new draft SEIS.
An electronic copy of the draft SEIS and its appendices, as well as an electronic comment submission form, are located on the USACE New Orleans District web page at: https://www.mvn.usace.army.mil/About/Projects/Morganza-to-the-Gulf/Documents/. Continue to check the USACE New Orleans District website for additional information and updates.
All comments received at the meetings, via mail or email, or using the comment submission option located on the above USACE New Orleans District web page will be considered in finalizing this SEIS. Comments must be received by the end of the 45-day comment period. Public comments received, and responses, will be included in the final SEIS. Comments should be mailed to the attention of:
