The long anticipated “proactive dredging” of Oregon Inlet is set to start this week with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers hopper dredge Currituck beginning daily 12-hour dredging operations for several weeks, according to Dare Board of Commissioners Chairman Bob Woodard.
“This is great news for Dare County,” Woodard said, “and especially for our watermen.”
