In an exclusive interview with IHS Dredging and Port Construction on the sidelines of the International Conference on Dredging (ports, harbours and inland waterways) organised by the India chapter of the Eastern Dredging Association (EADA) in the city of Ahmedabad on 11 March, Dr Ram Mohan advised, “Environment-friendly dredging is the way forward. People are realising that there is no use fighting against nature when you can work with it. In the future, I see those things getting more focus.”
After almost three years as WODA Chairman, Mohan’s tenure ends at the next WODCON in June so what did he feel were the most significant efforts of the last few years? “We have tried to bring all three of the dredging associations together – EADA, CEDA and WEDA – working closely and collaborating more; all of which has happened in the last three years,” he noted.
