Port of Galveston reports record revenues for 2018

The Port of Galveston reported a record $43.5 million in operating revenues during 2018, according to a financial report that was confirmed by an independent audit.

The operating revenues were 15 percent higher than the $37.8 million reported for 2017. Net operating income was $8 million in 2018, up from $4.5 million in 2017.

Other highlights from the report included 4.1 million tons of cargo, 1.97 million cruise passenger movements (counting as passengers board a ship and then again as they disembark the ship) and $335,169 in direct tax payments to the city of Galveston.
