In the Pacific Northwest, our Marine team recently completed the Point Hudson Breakwater Replacement in Port Townsend, WA—an essential infrastructure project ensuring the long-term resilience of this historic marina.
Working in two phases over consecutive winters, our team removed and replaced two aging jetties, reinforcing the marina’s protection against coastal erosion and rough waters. The final phase wrapped up on time and under budget, allowing boats to return to their slips by March 1, 2024.
This project was a true collaboration:
– Innovative Engineering– Designed by Mott McDonald to mimic the historical jetty while utilizing modern materials for durability.
– Environmental Stewardship – Before construction, volunteer divers relocated 400+ invertebrates to an artificial reef, preserving marine life.
– Strategic Execution – The phased approach minimized disruption, and our team completed both phases ahead of schedule.
Funded by local and federal partners, this $12.14M project ensures Point Hudson remains a vibrant maritime hub for years to come. Proud to deliver another project that protects, strengthens, and supports our coastal communities.
