Plans to clean East Chicago waterways outlined

Proposed cleanup plans for East Chicago waterways were presented Thursday at a meeting hosted by the East Chicago Waterway Management District and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency at the main branch of the East Chicago Public Library.

The goal is to address contamination in parts of the Grand Calumet River, the Indiana Harbor Canal and the Lake George Canal.
