CLEARWATER — Hank Hodde will become Pinellas County’s new Sustainability and Resilience Coordinator in July.

Hodde comes to Pinellas County with a strong background in community resiliency planning, coastal resource management and climate change adaptability. He most recently worked as a planning and policy manager for Smart Home America. Prior to that, he worked as a coastal management specialist with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, serving Gulf Coast states including Florida.

“As a coastal county that is at greater risk of sea level rise impact, Pinellas is steadfast in its resolve to become a resilient and sustainable community,” said Pinellas County Administrator Barry Burton. “Hank will serve as a central coordinating point among all of the current programs that seek to address and respond to our region’s challenges. He will also ensure the social, environmental and economic impacts are considered.”

Hodde has a master’s degree in environmental management from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, and a bachelor’s degree in residential science from Florida State University. He was also the recipient of the 2013 Sea Grant Dean John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship through NOAA. Hodde was born and raised in Stuart, Florida.
