The Port of Paranaguá, Paraná, prepares to expand its capacity to receive post-Panamax ships thanks to a R$394 million dredging contract, the largest ever for a Brazilian port. Slated to be completed in 22 months, the project will deepen the internal and external channels, as well as access points to berths at one of the top ports in Brazil for grains, fertilizer and containers. The investment is part of a government program launched in 2012 that aims to spend R$3.8 billion maintaining public ports in the next decade.
