PROJECT STATUS
UPDATE FEBRUARY 22, 2021
- Sand placement operations are complete.
- To date approximately 1,200,000 cubic yards of sand was pumped ashore.
- Demobilization of construction equipment and machinery is underway. Expect traffic delays on A-1-A and limited parking availability in the eastern lot of Loggerhead Park.
- Additional shell has been added to the public shell pile. The pile is located in the main parking lot for Carlin Park (east side of A1A). No more shell will be added to the pile, but it will remain after construction has finished.
- The area where equipment is stored while awaiting demobilization will be closed to the public for safety reasons. All other areas will be opened once cleared of equipment.
-
Beachgoers will be asked to relocate from the heavy equipment transit areas to ensure public safety.
-
Please move if asked by equipment escorts, lifeguards or police. It is to ensure everyone’s safety.
-
Beach and ocean users are asked to avoid the pipeline landing area (where the pipeline comes ashore from the ocean) and to stay outside of the active construction.
-
Trucking of screened shell material is expected to be completed this week. Expect occasional traffic delays on A-1-A during trucking.
