The Pacific Chapter of WEDA represents the West Coast of the United States including Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Hawaii and Alaska, Guam, American Samoa, and Western Canada.

Call for Abstracts: Please limit your abstract to one page. Presentations on all aspects of dredging and disposal, navigation structures, environmental restoration, and related topics are welcome and presentations specifically relevant to West Coast issues or projects are encouraged. If your abstract is accepted, you will be invited to give a presentation on that subject at the conference. You will not be asked to write and submit a technical paper. Abstract Due Date: Abstracts are due no later than Friday, June 7, 2019. Tentative Agenda

  • Tuesday will begin with registration from 5-6 PM followed by the Hosted Poster Social from 6-9
  • Wednesday Registration will continue at 8 AM. The agenda will begin with the 2018/19 Federal Dredging Program presentation from 8:30-9:20 AM, the Corps/Industry Meeting from 9:20-10 AM, followed by technical presentations and a luncheon program. In the evening, we will take a Newport Harbor history and educational cruise on John Wayne’s private yacht, the Wild Goose from 5-8 PM.
  • Thursday will continue with a half day of technical presentations and conclude with chapter business at about noon.

Location: The Hyatt Regency Newport Beach is a hotel retreat nestled among 26 acres within the Newport Bay Nature Reserve with access to three unique pools and a par-3 executive golf course. The hotel is located one mile away from picturesque Balboa Peninsula where you can browse European style boutiques and shops, grab a bite to eat, or enjoy the views and other activities. Other Newport Beach attractions include the historic Lido Theater, Mariner’s Mile, Corona Del Mar State Beach, and the famous “Wedge” – one of the best body-surfing sites in the world!
