What do a robot and green energy have in common? Meet the woman bringing them together
Today, we’re shining a light on Marie-Lou Picherit, one of the inspiring women at Ørsted, whose journey across engineering and commercial strategy shows the power of leading with curiosity. Her scientific mindset is still at the heart of how she approaches every challenge.
Marie-Lou has been a driving force in our robodog project that brought us Steve, integrating cutting-edge robotics into the onshore substations at one of our wind farms. From system communication and IT integration to robot programming and asset data insights, this project brings together innovation, exceptional teamwork, and future-focused problem solving. And Marie-Lou has been right at the centre of it.
💭 Reflecting on what International Women’s Day means to her, Marie-Lou offered a powerful piece of advice for other women and girls:
“Get involved. Participate. Learn from others. By being part of the conversation, you’ll have the opportunity to influence the issues that matter most to you. There will be moments when you’re the only woman in the room – but that, too, is part of driving change forward.”
Her story is a reminder that science grows stronger with diverse perspectives – and that the next generation of girls and women in science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) won’t just join the conversation; they’ll help shape it!
