Top-level EU visit to discuss Europe’s energy future
Today, we welcomed European energy ministers, the EU Commissioner for Energy and Housing, policy makers, and industry leaders for discussions on how Europe can reduce energy import dependency and accelerate the transition to clean energy. The visit took place in the context of the Danish EU Presidency, underlining the importance of strong collaboration at a European level.
At the event, the European Commission launched a new offshore wind tripartite which will seek to accelerate build out of offshore wind in Europe.
During the event, CEO Rasmus Errboe said:
“At Ørsted, we are committed to leading the buildout of European offshore wind during the critical years to come. Offshore wind is projected to account for around a quarter of Europe’s electricity production by 2050, securing affordable, green electricity for millions of homes and businesses.”
