We’re progressing with our offshore wind ambitions in Korea with new strategic partnerships

Our 1.4 GW Incheon offshore wind project, located approximately 70 km off the coast of Incheon, Korea, continues to make steady progress. Last week, we signed two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with leading Korean partners to explore meaningful collaboration.

Our MoU with KOEN, a Korean state-owned power generation company, highlights the value of local insights and experience. KOEN’s deep knowledge of Korea’s power market, supply chain, and offshore wind development will be pivotal in aligning the project with national policies and industry needs.

Through our MoU with POSCO Group, one of Korea’s most influential companies, we’re creating opportunities for broad collaboration that combines POSCO’s strengths within steel, engineering, and industrial development with Ørsted’s global offshore wind expertise.

By joining global expertise with local strengths, we’re one step closer to making the Incheon project a success. Subject to final investment decision, the Incheon project is expected to be among the largest offshore wind farms in Korea and play a key role in accelerating the country’s clean energy transition.
