A major milestone for the offshore wind farm set to become Poland’s largest.
The first of four horizontal directional drillings for Baltica 2 is now complete, enabling cable installation deep beneath the beach and dunes, protecting sensitive coastal areas and minimising shoreline impact. ZRB Janicki and Romgos Group successfully installed the protective casing pipe, which will later host the export cable. Next up, Boskalis will pull the cable through the pipe, creating the crucial connection between sea and land.
Baltica 2, jointly developed by Ørsted and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna, is expected to come online in 2027 and will deliver 1.5 GW of renewable energy − enough to power around 2.5 million households in Poland.
