The Pinellas Bayway Bridge Replacement was a major infrastructure project focused on improving safety, capacity, and long-term resilience.
As part of this completed work, we replaced two nearly 50-year-old bascule bridges with a new high-level structure providing 65 feet of clearance. The new four-lane bridge spans nearly half a mile along SR 682 and includes roadway, shoulder, and drainage improvements that support safer and more efficient travel.
The project required deep foundation construction in challenging subsurface conditions, extensive concrete placement, and close coordination across multiple disciplines. Scope also included demolition of the existing bascule bridges, responsible offshore placement of removed concrete, and thoughtful landscaping to enhance the surrounding environment.
Recognized with the FICE Award and the FTBA Best in Construction – Major Bridge Award, this project reflects strong collaboration with subcontractors and FDOT and demonstrates what it takes to deliver complex infrastructure with predictable excellence.
