Officials to mark beginning of Elmwood Park Water Main Replacement project

Posted on May 30, 2022

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rep. Mike Quigley (IL-05), and Elmwood Park Mayor Angelo Saviano will hold a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the beginning of a water main replacement project in Elmwood Park, IL:

WHEN:           Monday, June 6, 2022

WHERE:         Corner of 73rd Ct and Wabansia Ave

TIME:             1:00 PM

This project would address water main improvements along 77th Avenue between Wellington Avenue and Belmont Avenue and 73rd Court between North Avenue and Bloomingdale Avenue within the Village of Elmwood Park, Illinois.  These water mains are in a deteriorating condition and need to be updated to prevent potential failures of the current system. As a result, installation of new fire hydrants, new valves and valve vaults, and replacement of sections of the existing sanitary sewer would need to be undertaken as well along both sections of the project.

This project is part of the Cook County Environmental Infrastructure 219 project and has been allocated $1,050,000 of federal funding. Local sponsor is the Village of Elmwood Park.
