Los Angeles city, port and federal officials are exploring short-term and long-term fixes for serious sand erosion at Cabrillo Beach in San Pedro.
The outer beach looks starkly different since strong El Niño waves washed away much of its sand, leading to fears about potential flooding at the historic Cabrillo Beach Bathhouse.
Los Angeles City Councilman Joe Buscaino’s office and the Port of Los Angeles have been coordinating a short-term solution to prevent that from happening.
