Oceantic Network joined The Power of Offshore Wind on the Texas Gulf Coast forum at Texas A&M University Galveston Campus

We were proud to join The Power of Offshore Wind on the Texas Gulf Coast forum at Texas A&M University Galveston Campus last week, where Oceantic Network’s Julia Gerringer presented an overview of the current U.S. offshore wind market, highlighted existing Gulf supply chain activity, and shared opportunities and challenges shaping the industry’s future.

The day featured engaging panels and presentations, including:

Opening remarks from Col. Mike Fossum, Vice President of Texas A&M University, COO of the Galveston Campus, and Superintendent of the Texas A&M Maritime Academy, along with remarks from Vision Galveston.

Polling insights on Texas public opinion toward offshore wind from  Drs. Jenna A. Lamphere & Elizabeth Nyman of Texas A&M Galveston.

A presentation on boosting grid reliability utilizing offshore wind by Dr. Michael E. Webber at the The University of Texas at Austin.

A panel on striking a balance between offshore wind development and protecting wildlife along the Gulf coast moderated by the Galveston Bay Foundation with panelists National Wildlife Federation, National Audubon Society, and Environment Texas.

And a panel on the economic, supply chain, and job opportunities that offshore wind presents to the Gulf coast with the Honorable Jerry Patterson (former 27th Texas Land Commissioner) as moderator and panelists Galveston Economic Development Partnership, WSP, Clarksons, and Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company, LLC Lakes Dredge & Dock.
