Ocean City Inlet Reopens, But Work Continues on Fishing Pier After Storm

Officials in Ocean City say it could take weeks, but recovery from the storm that crippled the Baltimore area with record snowfall is underway and will be complete in time for the vacation season.

High winds, rain and surf ripped Ocean City‘s fishing pier away and tore up beaches and dunes in Ocean City, Assateague and Rehoboth Beach, Del. Leaders in those communities likened the damage to that caused by superstorm Sandy in 2012.

Just as in 2012, the Ocean City fishing pier was splintered.
