Northville Receives State Grant For Hunter Lake Plan

Village committee set to meet March 11

Hunter Lake, also known as “the Northville Little Lake”, will be the focus of a $72,000 Local Waterfront Revitalization Plan grant from New York state.

“We are very excited to be getting started on this very important project. The creation of the LWRP is a vital step in the development of the village,” stated Northville Mayor John Spaeth in a release.

The revitalization plan is expected to look at several proposed renovations for the lake, including:

Each of those projects were identified as priorities in the village’s recently created comprehensive plan.

“The Waterfront revitalization will only help build upon the unique destination Northville truly is in the southern Adirondacks and enable us to continue growing as a tourist destination hot spot,” Spaeth said. “Ultimately, it will help create a more sustainable economy within the village, town and county.”

The village has contracted Elan Planning, Devine and Architecture of Saratoga to write the needed revitalization plan.

The creation of the plan will be overseen by an advisory committee made up of community members and officials from various government agencies.

This committee is set to meet March 11, where it will determine the full scope of the plan and projects that will be included.
